These townhouses were designed to maximise occupant health and wellbeing through access to natural light, ventilation and views. A particular focus was placed on the indoor air quality for the inhabitants. This involved a combination of solid surfaces (easy to clean) and, where necessary, 100% wool carpet. For those unaware, carpet, underlay and flooring in general can be a hothouse of toxins for indoor air. They can constantly emit VOCs and other nasty chemicals due to their content and dye processes. Wool on the other hand, is naturally hypoallergenic, absorbs indoor air contaminants, regulates humidity and resists dirt to name a few advantages.
